Global Marketing Director Pharma & Healthcare
The Global Director of Marketing – Pharma & Healthcare is responsible for leading the global marketing strategy, execution, and transformation of the Pharma & Healthcare division. This role owns all customer-facing messaging and digital content, ensuring technical knowledge is translated into clear, impactful communication across channels. The Director drives global brand positioning, product launches, ABM/ABX campaigns, and digital engagement while managing a skilled internal team and freelancers to deliver agency-level output efficiently.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Define, implement, and continuously refine the global marketing strategy for Pharma & Healthcare
- Own and shape all messaging across campaigns, events, digital platforms, and sales enablement
- Align marketing with divisional and group-level strategic priorities.
Represent the division in cross-business marketing and leadership forums
Digital Marketing & Content
- Lead the digital transformation of marketing, ensuring a strong presence across ABM/ABX, social media, web, and digital media
- Translate complex technical content into market-ready communication in partnership with technical experts
- Ensure all marketing content is optimized for SEO, analytics, and performance tracking.
Curate external thought leadership content to enhance GEA’s market authority
Design & Brand
- Oversee the development of marketing assets, ensuring brand consistency across all touchpoints
- Collaborate closely with freelance designers to deliver digital ads, ABM content, event graphics, and visual campaigns
- Act as a brand guardian, balancing creativity with adherence to corporate identity
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the Pharma & Healthcare marketing team (Solid Dosage, Lyophilization, Batch/Containment/Service,Events)
- Manage external freelancers (technical content and design) to expand team capability
- Drive a cost-efficient, in-house marketing model, maximizing output with minimal agency spend
- Foster collaboration with sales, service, product management, and R&D teams
Campaigns & Events
- Direct global product launches, trade show presence, and digital campaigns.
- Own all messaging and communications before, during, and after events.
- Ensure sales enablement materials and ABM/ABX boards support customer engagement.
Measurement & Optimization
- Oversee analytics reporting across all digital channels and campaigns.
- Use insights to continuously improve marketing performance and ROI.
- Report regularly on marketing impact to divisional leadership.
Who are you?
- 10+ years in senior B2B marketing leadership, preferably in life sciences, pharma, or high-tech industries
- Proven experience owning all messaging and content strategy across global campaigns
- Deep knowledge of digital marketing, ABM/ABX, SEO, and social media in a B2B environment
- Ability to translate technical/scientific content into compelling customer-facing messaging
- Strong background in design oversight; ability to guide and evaluate creative work
- Demonstrated success in team leadership, mentoring, and managing hybrid teams (internal + freelance)
- Experience leading product launches and global trade show presence
- Highly organized, with strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Comfortable working in a matrixed, global organization.
