The role
To strengthen the team, our client is looking for a Manager BU Controlling to take the lead of an international controlling team. The role combines controlling and business partnering activities for two business units, whilst leading the team of two senior business controllers who are in charge of the remaining business units. The company has implemented a solid financial reporting system and now needs to increase the visibility on transactional level to create additional insights on the business operations, using available tools such as PowerBI.
You will carry, amongst other, following responsibilities:
- Become a genuine business partner in complex international business operations. You spot opportunities and mitigate risks, including currency and other risks.
- Create visibility and transparency in operational data by linking these data sets to the financial performance.
- Become a sparring partner for the BU leaders to increase profitability, efficiency, and financial performance.
- Interact with the business to explain drivers affecting the level of performance.
- Drive the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly managerial reporting cycles.
- Drive automation initiatives and enhance business processes, standards, and systems; including other reporting flows such as S&OP data in managerial reporting flows.
- Produce ideas to improve the operational and commercial performance, reduce costs and optimize processes.
- Analyze financial data and provide clear and comprehensive reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coach and develop the controlling team, composed of two senior controllers based abroad.
- Support business and investment cases that can be related to potential investments, important commercial decisions or other strategic topics.
The Manager BU Controlling will carry a wide and diverse range of tasks and responsibilities. He/she will work close to the business and will have a real impact on present business decisions as well as on long term strategic initiatives.
Profile
- You hold an economy-related master’s degree or similar. An additional MBA is a plus.
- You have gained at least 10 years of experience as Business Unit Controller, Group Controller, FP&A or high-level Business Control.
- You are system driven, analytical and have a conceptual mind set.
- You have excellent communication skills.
- You are pro-active, collaborative and integer.
- You have a strong business acumen and are willing to implement structure, processes and systems to improve the business.
- You are willing to travel 10 to maximum 20% of the working time.
