GEA Process Engineering is working together with Bakker & Partners in the search for an R&D Manager.

GEA Process Engineering is part of the multinational GEA Group, and is a market leader in the field of development, design and manufacturing of complex process equipment for the production of pharmaceutical oral solid dosage (OSD) forms.

GEA is looking for an R&D Manager Belgium who will lead the R&D Department with teams in Wommelgem and Halle.

YOUR ROLE:

As R&D Director, you will be at the forefront of innovation, driving the transformation of GEA’s product portfolio’s and securing GEA’s leading technology position.

 

  • You will be responsible to develop and realize the technology roadmap from initial concept to finished products. You will do so by bringing and enabling new ideas and by translating ideas into a strategic vision and a plan.
  • You will be people manager for the R&D engineers (6FTE) and will be responsible for their performance and development.
  • You will improve the R&D organization. You will create optimal synergies between the 2 sites (f.e. align processes, stimulate collaborations and cross-learning,optimize resource planning).
  • You will ensure good collaboration and interaction with other departments and partners.
  • You are part of the Belgium Management Team, where you will represent R&D and contribute to the overall strategy and future vision for GEA Process Engineering.
  • Your work location is Halle en Wommelgem. You will travel occassionally to customers, suppliers/partners and trade shows (max 10%).

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • We are looking for a passionate R&D manager, who combines proven innovation and technical competences and with strong organizational and people skills.
  • You have a MSc in electro-mechanical engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • You gained a solid level of experience in development and design of high quality machinery/rotating equipment with challenging process requirements.
  • You preferably have knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and requirements (hygienic design, GMP, …) or you have proven to be able to pick up new technologies quickly.
  • You have experience running (project) teams, you able to coach and enable your team and drive business transformations.
  • You are creative and have a strong developed conceptual approach. More importantly, you inspire and enable your team in design thinking and ideation processes.
  • You have strategic thinking ability. You are able to translate ideas into successful products.
  • You have strong project management skills and a proven ability to deliver parallel projects within budget / timelines.
  • You are fluent (R/W/S) in English. Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
  • Sustainability experience is a strong plus.
