Our client, a renowned international manufacturing group, is looking for a high-potential Operations Manager to join its international operations team. This is a unique expat opportunity based in South East Asia, offering broad operational responsibility within a global industrial environment. The Role As Operations Manager, you have end responsibility for two manufacturing sites in South East Asia and Europa. Based in South East Asia, you lead the local plant managers with the goal of continuously improving the performance, efficiency and profitability of both sites. You act as an entrepreneur within the organization, constantly looking for opportunities to improve processes, develop your teams and strengthen the division’s competitive position. Key Responsibilities You lead the Plant Managers of the sites in South East Asia and Europe and hold final responsibility for all operational activities (production, maintenance, technical services, CI). You ensure efficient and reliable production processes across both sites, with a strong focus on product quality and yield. You build on the existing zero-harm safety culture and ensure full regulatory compliance across both sites. You implement and embed a culture of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement throughout the division. You develop the long-term strategy for the division, including identifying and substantiating strategic investment projects. You drive financial performance and profitability by optimising production costs and improving operational efficiency. You coach, mentor and develop the local management of both sites towards greater autonomy and leadership maturity, in line with the company culture. You set clear annual plant objectives based on defined KPIs and ensure systematic performance follow-up. You manage relationships with internal stakeholders such as supply chain, R&D, sales and finance to achieve the division’s objectives. Your Profile Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent through experience. Leadership experience in a complex, international manufacturing environment. Hands-on and pragmatic manager with a passion for operations, and eager to be close to the shop floor. Proven track record in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Fluent in English, both written en spoken. Willing to relocate as an expat to South East Asia for at least 2 years. From its Innovation Center in Leuven, the Application Innovation Group (AIG) works on the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies for 3D metal printing. About the role As a Validation Engineer, you will play a key role, ensuring that new printers, upgrades and materials developed by R&D are thoroughly validated before they go into production. Your work is essential to guarantee that production processes meet the stringent requirements of industries such as medical devices and aerospace. You will directly contribute to the quality and reliability of the manufactured parts. You will be responsible for the entire validation process of 3D metal printing systems. This includes developing the strategy, executing the plan, analyzing data and preparing final reports. Your responsibilities are: Developing validation plans and strategies for both new and existing equipment. Conducting validation studies, including process characterization, Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ). Coordinating validation jobs, including preparing test setups, working with internal and external laboratories and monitoring the results. Analyzing test data using statistical methods (e.g., SPC) and preparing detailed validation protocols and reports based on your findings. Collaborating closely with R&D, production and the US-based team to align processes and methodologies between sites. Staying informed about industry standards, particularly in the medical and aerospace sectors. Occasionally support customer validation efforts on-site. Your profile A Bachelor or Master degree in a technical field, or equivalent through relevant experience Proven experience in a Process Engineer, Quality Engineer, Manufacturing, Validation Engineer or a similar experience within a technical production environment. Strong affinity for statistical analysis (e.g., SPC) Knowledge of validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ) and quality standards in the medical or aerospace industry is a strong asset You are analytical, structured and able to work autonomously You have a genuine interest in understanding and validating complex technical processes from A to Z You are a team player who communicates effectively with both internal and external stakeholders Fluent in English is an absolute requirement.
